Some advice from Debi

Know who you are dealing with.
I am a local resident and business owner here in Lake Havasu and it saddens me every week to hear the horror stories from my customers about those out of town buyers. The rip-off stories never seem to end. I could write a book of stories.  For example, a local resident came in to get a price on a nugget bracelet.  After I offered her $990.00 for her bracelet she told me that she had just come from the road show where they offered her $275.00 and then upped the offered to $350.00 as she was leaving.  Unfortunately, this happens ALL THE TIME.  Don’t be ripped off by those fly-by-night companies.  Stop by Havasu Coin.  We are local and we will take care of you!

Talk to your neighbors. Check on the internet and see how many of these fly-by-night companies are under investigation. Do they care about our community?  Do they care about home burglaries in our community?

The Office of Fair Trading OFT works with the Consumer Protection Agency but ultimately it is up to us to protect our community and ourselves.
To take this even deeper, I can say that I discretely fill out paperwork on every person selling items. I work with the police, as do the local pawn shops. We all live in this community and we care about what is going on. When the police are searching for merchandise from home burglaries we do whatever we can to help.  I never intend to, or want to buy stolen goods.  And, I will do everything in my power to make it hard for the bad guys.  I understand from the Lake Havasu City police detectives that they have no recourse in locating stolen merchandise with those out of town buyers.
